TFHC Pediatric Residency

TFHC-Faculty-11.jpg

Welcome to the Dr. Kiran C. Patel Institute for Graduate Medical Education (KPIGME) - Tampa Family Health Centers (TFHC) Pediatrics Residency Program! We are excited to share our innovative and mission-driven residency, one of the few pediatrics programs in the country based in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). Our vision is to prepare compassionate, highly skilled pediatricians who are deeply committed to improving the health and well-being of children and families. With a strong emphasis on community advocacy and addressing the root factors that shape child health, we offer a training experience that combines excellent clinical preparation with meaningful service.

At TFHC, you will practice in the real world of pediatrics. Residents care for children and adolescents across a wide range of circumstances, gaining firsthand experience in both resource-rich and resource-limited settings. Training includes comprehensive exposure to pediatric subspecialties, continuity of care in our health centers, and opportunities to partner with schools, community organizations, and public health initiatives. This balance equips graduates to succeed in any practice setting while instilling a lifelong commitment to advancing children’s health.

Our faculty are practicing pediatricians and passionate educators who will mentor you as you develop clinical expertise, explore your professional interests, and refine your career path. We foster a supportive environment where residents are encouraged to grow not only as physicians, but also as leaders, advocates, and trusted members of the communities they serve.

We are intentional about working alongside our residents to shape the program in ways that meet their individual needs while also providing the best possible care for our patients. At TFHC, you will not only join a team of committed healthcare professionals, but you will also become an active part of our TFHC family and our larger patient community. We look forward to welcoming you and working together to create lasting improvements in child health.

Thank you for your interest in our program! Please feel encouraged to reach out to our Program Coordinator Nurhi Davis Delgado at nddelgado@TFHC.org for more information.

Sincerely,
